In this article, I want to share with you this information by starting a story.
On Aug 16th, we received one piece of insole sample from our customer and we were told this insole is for shoes- work shoes. Normally, what do we need to check with our customers after we have the benchmark sample?
Insole prototype or insole data
During the whole process of development, this is the most vital part, especially when it a'bout orthotic insoles. For the benchmark we received, it is 4/6mm thickness, which means forefoot thickness is 4mm and heel thickness is 6mm. By going through all our mould data, we only have 5/7mm mould when require the same shape. After checking with customers, they agreed to use our current mould.
Specification
First, what kind of material we were going to use? EVA, Ortholite or PU? Normally, which kind of material we use determines which kind of mould we are going to open. In this case, we used PU foam.
Then it is about the density or the durometer of the material. This is exactly depending on the customers' request. In this case, the hardness of the benchmark sample is 40 shore C. For foam material, there is always a range of materials. For example, if our set target hardness is 40 shore C, the result might be from 37-43 shore C.
Lastly, it is the colour. There are two main ways: the same as the benchmark sample or providing Pantone colour code. Both are acceptable.
Logo
Usually, heat transfer printing is the main way. After receiving the logo file, we ask our logo supplier to open the logo plate, which will require about 3 working days. But in this case, our customer just sent us the logo file one day before the date he needs us to send out the products, so in this way, we only have one option to just use sublimation printing. By using our in-house sublimation machine, we can print customers' logos in just 1-2 hours. Our in-house tool does give us more advantage when we deal with some unforeseen circumstances.
Finally, we managed to send out the sample in just 3 days. But without the resources we have in our factory, I don't think we can achieve this- by using the shortest time to send out the request sample at the requested time.
As a supplier, we always want to do our best to meet customers' requests. So, pls contact us when you need the insole product. We are confident that we can achieve more by standing on what we have now- tools, materials and supporting suppliers.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
